El Niņo finally waned in May and the rain gently came from the hills at night and again during the days that followed as the inter-tropic cloud convergence coming off the equator started to give us the moonsoons long awaited.
We probably had rains two weeks earlier
than Manila and never suffered the more extreme drought in the broader
plateau of Malaybalay and Valencia. Overnight everything turned fresh
green and you could smell the growth. Some illegal cutting in the hills
again causes concern but finally we have some meetings called for with
local government and offending parties.
