Teachers having discussion with studentsIn APC, teachers are considered as facilitators rather than sources of knowledge. Much of the students’ learning is dependent upon the ability of the teachers to provide the proper stimuli and learning experience for students to acquire the necessary knowledge and information.
Further capacities need to be built in the areas of student assessment and evaluation, development of indigenous instructional materials, classroom management, and teaching methods. In-house training, exposure to other IP schools, sharing of experiences, and watching actual demonstrations are helpful in widening the perspectives of both para-teachers and professional teachers.
